Subaru Cycling Classic in Greenville SC on ESPN (1991 Video)

I was recently surprised to find out that Greenville SC was actually on ESPN one time. Maybe they’ve been on other times since Clemson has gotten a lot of attention in football recently.

But back in 1991, Greenville was the sight of the Subaru Cycling Classic. The cool thing watching this is you get to see a lot of what old school Greenville looked like before a lot of the development we’ve seen.

Looking around on the web, I’m not sure if they actually still hold this race anymore. Perhaps other companies sponsor the cycling classic now. But nonetheless, it’s a cool piece of Greenville SC history you can enjoy.
